In Office When Not in Office
My client asked me to shoot some personnel portraits at a hotel location where they were having a corporate meeting. I had access to a room with a desk. I photographed several employees against a blank wall. The next week my client called and asked if I could change one of the people, Alex, that I photographed at the hotel, to him sitting at his office desk. Sure I could! So I scheduled a time when I could get in to photograph Alex’s office. I made sure to shoot the office at a similar height/angle as the original hotel shot. Next, I outlined Alex and removed him from the hotel setting background. I then resized him to the proper scale and placed him comfortably sitting at his desk. I blended some edges and smoothed out the drop shadow, and no one had any idea it was a photoshopped image when it appeared in their newsletter (which I also design and print).
